The Close

Dear Readers,

I would like to announce that Life N jeans will be closing down until further notice. The re-opening time is not insight at the moment, so it could be one long spot of time (or indefinitely). If you are wondering why the blog is closing after so long, here are three main reasons.

- Post count to low
- Not enough readers
- School

As of now, all authors will be discontinued, and the blog will be shutdown and its future "rethought". If you wish to be alerted when (and if) the blog opens back up, just drop a comment saying so. Thank you all for following my blog over the past year, it was a lot of fun to write for you all.

Hemlock

Allo, I returned from Camp hemlock a while ago, so I decided to post the much delayed...post. Here 'tis!

Day 1 - I woke up at about 7:00 AM and and finished my final packing. I left for the church at around 8:20. Once I was there, I spent time loading up the bus with coolers full of all kinds of food for the camp. The bulk of the work was done by Mr. Wilson, Me, Robert B., and Ben Wilson . Kevin K. and his group didn't show up until later, so we did all the work. We all loaded up into the bus and various cars there and left for WV. after somewhere around three hours of driving, we had reached WV and stopped at kack-a-kacapon ( a small restaurant in the middle of nowhere) and (I) had a delicious roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy (Not to mention the delicious apple pie for Desert). After that we headed over to camp and opened up. I moved my stuff into the lodge and helped unload all the coolers and food (which Kevin didn't help AGAIN). After everything was done (cabins swept out, rooms unlocked, gates opened, fridge loaded, stuff unpacked, etc.) The campers started arriving. I helped set up the gun range until dinner time. When dinner was completed, people lumbered around for a bit and then we had campfire. Robert B. and I set up sound and we sang Worship songs for a while. Later we listened to teaching from Mr. maka. where offered a nintendo wii, plasma tv, and a bunch of other stuff for anyone who could win a "race". After that some of the graduating sentinels (6th graders) came up with their dads and talked. From then on everyone scattered off into the shadows. Well when We finally went to bed (Jessie P., Kevin K, Jonathon E., Robert B) no one could sleep so we talked for ever. Finally everyone went silent (for about two hours)Later, we found that we were all still awake (except for kevin) and so we pulled out a checkers board and ate cookies and gobstoppers. After several games (I won them all) we discovered that Kevin was asleep. Thinking this rather unfair that he could fall asleep so fast (and He pranked me last year) I decided to tooth paste him. Well, not me exactly. I convinced Jonathon to put the paste all over him, so that later i could shift the blame to him. Well he slept on for a good loooong time. When he finally woke up, he started yelling and sprinted down the hallway to the bathroom (we later found out that he had convinced himself that he was melting into the mattress). Once he found that the horrendous burning was caused by tooth paste (it hurts after say, five hours), He came back huffing and puffing looking for someone to maul. He suspected me right away (smart fellow) so i pointed at Jonathan, with the classic "He did it!". From then on, well, lets just say things were settled until everyone was happy. sort of.

Day 2 -

Having pulled an all nighter we were all (except kevin and Robert B) extremely tired. I hauled myself off to take a shower before breakfast. Once it was mealtime, we all congregated in the mess hall and waited for some scrambled eggs (well done), Sausage ( the only thing that tasted good), and home-made thick as glue oatmeal (tasted like glue as well). Once that delicious meal was over, we had devotions. Being one of my favorite parts of Camp, I was very disappointed when I had to miss devotions to go set up the rifle range. But I got to have my own time later one =). Well I was assigned to help teach the kids how to use a saw, knife, and axe. Basically sharp things. What really annoyed me was how the kids could dull the tools so fast! Almost every second seemed i was sharpening a hatchet or knife. Particularly the hatchets. Well after that I moved on to helping a group learn how to build a fire. The guy I ended up helping hadn't even lit a match before (considering he was in 2nd grade). I guess it was sorta unfair to the other kids when the guy i worked with got a good blaze goin and they were still huffing and puffing to get theirs started. Well soon after the bell rang for lunch and we sprinted to get in line first. Of course it was just measly old sandwiches for lunch, but hey, its better than nothing. Once lunch was completed we went back to working in the field for a bit, and then set off on a hike. A good way up the mountain we discovered a good sized rattle snake staring at us. We were observing him when one of our members (I wont say who, ahem ahem) Decided to get in rather "close". Now as well all know (I hope we do) a snake can strike with deadly force the distance of its full body length. This whopper was about 3 and a half feet long, and our, er, "friend" was well under that. Well he didn't die and we moved on. Two of our group had to go back down the mountain so Robert B and I continued on for a while. After about 45 minutes we came to one of the cliffs. I found a small crevice I could squeeze into, and discovered a perfect climbing wall, almost exactly like the winding stair from LOTR. Well this went down the face of the cliff, or rather, through the face. The entire descent (Oh yes, i descended) I was amazed my hand was ripped to shreds by a score of rattle snakes (I later discovered that hawks and vultures nested in the cavernous area, so all snakes stayed clear). Well earlier on i had found a beautiful Eagle feather, and when I started my downward climb, I had left it topside. So Mr. Wilson happens to come along, find it, and stick it in his cap. So much for that. Once we reached the bottom, I ran into a group of campers who didn't believe we had climbed the whole way, even though they saw us doing it (some people are just skeptics). Robert B. and I hiked with them back to camp, where I wanted to get Jonathan and Jessie and go back to climb the spot. Of course everyone was to lazy to do so and trailed off to the game room ( a place above the bunkhouse filled with ping pong, Foosball, and pool.) I followed and had an Epic room-wide ping pong game (one of the best ever), and thoroughly exhausted myself. I soon left and went outside to observe a few kids fighting on a log with battlestick (a pole with socks on either end which was used last year for games). I decided to do some myself, and played until someone threw me off (literally). After that there was a blur of dinner, campfire, and songs but I wont get in to detail. The only thing I am going to say though is that Mr. Maka put the plasma Tv in the fire, and I got a ten dollar dunkin donuts card (which i left at camp). That night I got some blessed sleep.

Day 3 - The last day. End of the camp. Blah blah blah sentimentality and such. Well we all had breakfast, and then I found my dad (he was with my little bro who's still in CSB) and we had some great devotions, talking about how life is like a race and we need to run for the prize (theme of camp hemlock). Afterwards I headed over to the slingshot section, and helped out (basically just making sure the kids dont shoot each other in the eye.) After a bit I took out my own personal slingshot and started knocking bottles off racks and popping balloons. Right when I was at my 10th hit in a row (shooting at a frying pan) it started to rain. Everyone regrouped back at the cabins ('cept for me) and got rain coats and such. Soon after the activities continued. Well later on, after the rain stopped, the camp dog (no one knows where she lives) popped in to say hello and everyone got distracted. Discreetly I slipped away to help get the stockpiles of water balloons in place for the battle we always have. Once the time was right, Everyone lined up (dads against sons, helpers can go wherever) and charged. 5 minutes of pure terror the sky is filled with balloons, nowhere is safe. once it was over, poor mr. sommerville was mobbed by the kids and buried under a massive dog pile. Some people tried to save him but it took forever to get those kids away. soon after they set their sights on someone else ( i cant quite remember who) and I dumped an entire water cooler full of...water, on them. Instantly they were after me like flys to molasses. I learned never to do that again.

Well after everyone cleaned up the mess from the balloons, people skedaddled off in different directions. I packed my stuff and helped get the guns and bows back in the cars. Well way later after everyone was gone, Kevin Robert and I (actually, It was really me) discovered a cool rope course. When i got disinterested in that, Everyone had gone to the pool. I soon made a big mistake, I entered the pool area. Instantly Everyone was intent upon pushing me in. Well Robert B was going to, But i warned him he was gonna go down no matter what (he was complainin bout his ipod in his pocket). So he sorta stayed away. Then Kevin K. was gonna help me throw him in, so I attempted to push kevin in. Not good. He managed to catch on at the last minute and not fall in. After chasing me in circles forever, he finally gave up on me. Right when my back was turned though, Robert B rushed up and shoved me in. Backstabber! I was in jeans. Well I trodded soaking wet onto the bus. It took forever it seemed, for us to get to a mcdonalds/shop place. We all got out and I got a small fires, drink, and a mcchicken. Not to mention the nerds, pringles, or sour belts. After loading back up into the bus, we all argued (excuse me, debated.) about doomsday, smallpox, russia, obama, and a few other things. Some persons (i wont mention any names) Got a bit...overly involved. Well once we reached the church, we all unloaded, headed home, and dropped dead. The end.

Well my first football game was yesterday and I was benched at halftime. But, I'm OK with that because of the reason. We were too good! We scored 4 touchdowns on four plays so they had to institute a mercy rule. I still got to play defence so I was OK. The final score was 28-0. Our next game is hopefully going to be a lot harder and A LOT OF FUN! It's an away game at Ellicott City. The field there is field-turf (Fake, and really nice) and the stands are built on the side of a hill so it gives you a stadium feel! The team there is good too though.

OH, I have a really funny story about the football game. Our entire team came to the game wearing our home jerseys which are red. Well the other team came wearing red too! That means that both teams were the same color! Well it would be really hard to play a game like that so we switched jerseys. Since we were at our home field we had a trailer full of football equipment. The coach went into the trailer and found white jerseys for all of us. The problem is that hardly any of them fit and the numbers didn't correspond with the position. So half the team was wearing jerseys that were WAY too tight! (remember we were wearing football pads) Some could barely move their arms! But we played and won anyways! Trying to take them off was SOOOOO funny, people were trapped inside their jerseys! But no one died and it was a lot of fun.

P.S. When we passed the other team I broke the rules by yelling
"Hey guys! Enjoy those nice, RED, uniforms!" (I didn't get in trouble though, the coach just laughed)

Camp hemlock, and the play

Hey all, Robert here. Do you remember a while back when I said that I wouldn't be going to Camp hemlock? Well I was feeling pretty down about it. But I prayed that if it was God's will, that he would open a door for me to go. Or maybe a window. And sure enough, The next day I got a call from the Mr Kelley (the guy in charge of the camp) informing me that they needed some more help after all! The lord is amazing.

But whilst there is good news, there is also bad news. Well, its not really bad. As some of you know, I was signed up for an audition with Mrs. Mays for the spring play this year. Well after some more thought and consideration, my parents decided that I should wait till next year, particularly because of my heavy burden of school I will have to deal with, as well as the fact that I serve a lot at home (Taking care of my handicapped brother) and The play would take a lot away from that. This was a disappointment to me, but i can see that even if I was able to do music, school, THG, serving at home (which takes a lot), adventure academy, and the spring play, I would be a walking zombie. So I have decided to leave it all in the best place possible, the Lord's hands =).

Ok, I've been struggeling a lot with trusting myself lately. I feel like I really am just putting a hand on God instead of leaning on him. I've stopped reading my bible and praying almost altogether. I know that I need God and cannot trust myself but I try and fight the thoughts when they come into my mind. I just reasure myself that I still have a hand on God so I can lean on him later. Right now sin is just to "enjoyable" to stop right now. I'll stop later. If you guys could pray for me I would greatly appreciate it. You can pray that God would show me that he is better than sin and that I would start leaning on God with my whole body.

'Allo folks, Dr. R. here! Just thought I'd give you an update on my life, not much but it's a post :-/ .

Things have been goin a little slow 'round here. I didn't go on the Church youth retreat because my family and I were gonna go on vacation. Well the day of the retreat, (which was when we were also supposed to leave) we decided we couldn't go after all, and it was to late to sign up for the Retreat. Though this was disappointing, I still had camp hemlock (a boys camp in the heart of WV where i serve every year). Well I was a little late in volunteering, and for the first time ever they had to many people wanting to help. So it looks like I ain't goin no where before school starts, but if it's God's will, then so be it. Right now our AC just got a temporary fix (the second one in a week) and its lookin like we may have to get an entire new unit. Some of you may be thinking something along the lines of "Why don't you just put up with it? Wimp". Well the reason is that my brother (Nathan) has special needs (epilepsy, autism, cerebral palsy, etc.) and when the heat gets up there it can trigger seizures. But as you know, getting a new A.C. unit costs a pretty penny, but the Lord provides =) .

Well, that about sums up whats goin on at the moment. Thanks for reading! And remember, don't talk to any strange cantelope trees!

I was requested by RG to write another post, so here it is. First off, I want to publicly announce that RG has STILL not made my new email address legible to post on LNJ and I do not want to put up with switching my email account just to post on this blog. So RG, puleaasseee make my other email a author on this blog.

Now to get to the real stuff.

There are times when life just gets awkward. Speaking of wh

ich, my Tree House Gang audition. I memorized a couple of verses and went to the audition not knowing what to think. I marched right up onto the stage, stiffly recited my verse, and stood there looking like I was in a strait jacket. When the asked me to do the verse again in a British accent, I felt like somebody pushed the 'reset' button on my brain and wiped all my memory. I stumbled my way through the verse again in a "accent" that sounded more like a chicken squawking after eating a frog.

Of course, you can imagine that it went downhill from there. While that might be a slight exaggeration, I still don't think I did very well. Well, it's all in Go

d's hands and I'm happy to leave it up to him.

Random, I know. This is something that made me crack up, especially since I did this with my friends a couple weeks ago and it was exactly the same result. Enjoy and farewell.

Par tay, and musical

Hey kiddos! R.G. here. I just returned from the Shakespeare cast par tay! It was a ton O fun. We watched recordings of our performances and ate cookies N stuff. After a while someone (I'm not quite sure who) started playing with a golf ball and some other people ( i can't quite say...) got a little annoyed. :P . Well anyways, afterwards we all signed shirts and hung around for a bit. By the time I got home, I felt like I had lost my purpose in life (well not really), SHAKESPEARE CAMP WAS OVER! But I have more to look forward to. Tonight, the summer musical (100% Chance of Rain) is being performed by K-6th graders, and I am part of the orchestra that is doing the music for it. You all really should try to come, it's a free show, and the acting talent displayed is really quite phenomenal considering the age of the actors. Hope to see you all there! (The show is at 7:30 PM, in the Main auditorium of CLC.)

PLAY!!!

Hello Hello Helloo! Robert here, and I just finished acting in a "Midsummer Night's dream"! We had the audience bursting with laughter! First off, I want to thank Mrs. Goodling and Mrs. Jones for doing the camp this year! You are awesome! Secondly, to all you guys who helped out with sound, makeup, and costume, We owe you a lot. To the actors, you guys were amazing! We all did a great job, and it was sooo much fun.

If you are wondering what in the world I am talking about, allow me to explain.

For the past two weeks I have been taking a Shakespeare camp. Tonight was our performance. In this camp, there are two groups. 7th-9th and 10th-12th (grades). Each group performs its own play. Our group did midsummer's, and the other group did A winter's tale. It was sooo much fun! I am kinda sad that its over, but I still have the cast par tay tomorrow!

After that sporadic and tangled post, I must be leaving. My face is still covered in stage make-up (yes, mascara) and it wont come off! I have a big day tomorrow, performing with an orchestra bright and early. So see ya all around the Rumble branch!

Hey all you people out there! This is my One thousandth view post! I know it sounds strange, but since I installed Google analytics into my blog (way back in May) It has been secretly telling me how many people view my blog per day, week, month, and year. Since May I have had 1000 visits! 35% of my traffic is from Google search engines (of which I am the number one listed) and 74% is from direct traffic. The rest is from Referring sites. Well anyways, If I got a thousand views in such a short time, it staggers the mind to think how many I must have got since I started!! But to get to the point, I wanted to know what you all thought of me putting up a PUBLIC hit counter, so everyone can see it. Whaddya think?

In other news, Shakespeare camp is coming along nicely. I had lots of fun today, and afterwards went running and walked to McDonald's . We got free drinks and were going to walk through the drive-through in car formation, but we didn't have any money and the girls with us didn't want to because they thought someone would recognize them or somthin :-/ . Hey! I got some info for all you mangos out there!

In Shakespeare camp I got the part of Francis Flute. Since I dont have time to tell you a lot about him, I'll just paste in a short summary i wrote of him.

Francis Flute is your pretty average down-to-earth type of guy. He's got some good friends, a job, a home, and overall, life is pretty good (though in his mind it could be better). Often a time you can find him doing the most unwanted and unsavory jobs. Even though he isnt the brightest candle on the mango shrub, deep down he's got a heart of platinum. So naturally he will do anything his friends ask of him (after a few feeble excuses, of course)(which is ALSO why he gets the role of the leading female in Quince, snug, snout, bottom, and starveling's play for the nobility of Athens). Flute appears in many scenes, and being the quiet type of guy that he is, he generally doesnt say much. But he every time he appears, he adds color and flavor to the scene portrayed.

Well thats all folks! I gotta go now! cya round the mango shrub!

P.S.- For one part in my role, I have to wear a dress, a wig, talk in a squeaky voice, and do a bunch of other humilating things. I'm so good natured, arent I? bahahahaha.

Shakespear camp (a short, disjointed poest)

Hey folks! Robert here. I just got back from Shakespeare camp, and boy was it fun! It runs from Monday (today) everyday until Friday (not this week, but next). At the same time, I am doubling and doing some trumpet playing (I got a new trumpet by the way! will have a separate post about that later ;) ) for a little kids musical, 100% chance of rain. Well anyways, we got there at 9:00 am and Mrs. Jones (one of the people in charge) talked to us for a bit. Next we did some mime practices and such until it was time for me to go to trumpet. A few other friends and i raced off to band. We got there and practiced for a while until noon. We then left back to Shakespeare camp and ate lunch, ran around crazily outside, and played gravel, all before we sat down and did some testing of the different parts to "A midsummer's night dream". I played several parts, and had lots of fun. I headed home around 3:00 pm and ate a triple Decker sandwich :-/ . Well that's about all i have to post for now, cya round the mango shrub!

Summer Update

Hey folks! R.G. here! not a lot has been goin on since the wind down of the contest. I've been just layin round the house really, not much to do. But this Saturday I will hopefully be goin over to a friend's house, so there's some possible fun. But the highlight of this month is fast approaching. SHAKESPEAR CAMP! Two full weeks of pure drama await me, starting monday. But it actually turns out that the ninth graders, me included, have will be doing the middle school play, midsummer's night dream, or something like that. At the same time the elementary kiddos will be doin a musical (this has nothing to do with the camp) and Since I am a trumpet player, my services are required for the musical part! This will interfere with my camping of course, but I'm trusting in God that this is all part of his plan.

Well that's all. Just another update on my boring life. Hope you guys are havin a Rockin Talkin smashingly fun summer!

Hey folks! Happy Independence day! Two-hundred and forty-three years ago, 13 small colonies became one nation. A war for Independence in sued, and the world's largest super power, Great Britain, was defeated by the small continental army. Unlike most blog posts on important days, this one is goin to be short N sweet. No long oratories on great men, or perilous adventures. I just want to leave you with one thought today: The day the colonies gained a country, a Civilization lost its Nation. What is this Civilization? Native America. Imagine this, One day a group of strangers show up on your shores. You welcome them to your land and help them get established. Soon, more and more of these men are settling in the land. After a while they declare Independence from wherever they came from, and say that your home is THEIR country! The nerve! Next more strangers appear, and start shooting people! Then before you can say "Chickasaw" everybody is having a war over YOUR land! Is it a mouse between two cats to be fought over? Anyways, time goes on and the original settlers win. They call themselves "Americans", but they come from over the sea! After a time has passed, the begin pushing west, Shoving you off your land and spreading wild stories about savages scalping people, when all you
did was try to defend Your land! Pretty soon your people are disappearing, being moved to reservations, then moved again when something valuable is discovered there.

Of course you all know the rest of the story, manifest destiny, blah blah blah. But this fourth of July, when you think about the people who gained Independence, remember the ones who lost their liberty.

Weeeeeellll its that time again folks! R.G. here, and I've got a big contest up my sleeve! Its time for our annual (four)monthly blog contest!!!!! As usual, there will be two stages to this event. Hello folks! As you can probably already tell by the caption of this post (as well as the music that should be playing in the backround) I have added a new soundtrack to the blog! After weeks without music, I have finally re-instated the blog soundtrack. There are a few old songs on there, but almost all of them are entirely new! I would greatly appreciate feedback on my choice of songs. If you have any particular tracks that you would like added to the blog, you can just leave a comment stating the band and name of the song. Summer celebration!

Hello all! Whew, it has been a long time! I apologize for not posting in a while, I have been real busy with stuff. Well this is my post of reckoning, I have to tell you all everything that has happened since last....posting.

A week or so a go I went to a really fun dance in Mt. Airy, and had a lot of fun. A couple days later, The summer camp, Summer celebration started. I was placed on the 6 year old Galatians (blue) team to help coach. Though it was fun, it was extremely stressful. We had to be at the church bright and early at 7:00 AM each morning, and couldn't go home to past 12:00. This year, I was shadowing (taking care of) a special needs kid on our team. Hew as a nice guy, but he didn't come back for the last three days :( . Well for some reason, Every time we went to play games the kids on my team decided i needed to be tackled, so all 11 of them would gang up on me. It didnt help one bit that sean Branchaw was encouraging them the whole time (He's on one of the drama teams). Well as the camp progressed, Exhaustion proved to be inversely proportional to energy. One went, up, the other went down. Anyways, Today was the last day and right now i feel like a walking catfish (is that even possible?). We had a big race for the the campers, and one of my kids came in first place (for the six year olds). Afterwards everyone got icecream and such. Well I stayed after the camp was over (There were a lot of emotional partings from the kids) to help clean up. We (me and a group of other volunteers) moved the set from the stage (which is quite heavy I might add) and took down a lot of the stuff outside. Afterwards we vegged out eating icees. All i can say is that it was one crazy week! (Oh and i forgot to mention, Mr. B (the runner of the camp) got a pie in the face each day!)

In other news, There is a contra dance in glen echo tomorrow, and i am hoping to be able to go. I need a ride anyway, so is anyone able to take me?

Hey folks! R.G. here. Well lately I have been tossing around some ideas of some stuff to do over the summer. And I was wondering what you all would think about reviving the debate club idea, or having a book club. Here are the details for both.

Debate -

Meetings - 3-4 meetings over the summer. More if possible

Where - At different houses of members

Topics- Discuss Political issues of today as well as moral and philosophical issues from the past. (Historical events, etc.)

Type of debate - Team and one on one.

Book club-

Meetings - 5-6, possibly more.

Where - My house and/or other members' houses

Topics - We would each read a different book by one author and discuss the similarities, allegories, and other base materials hidden within.

Other- Snacks included!

So this is basically just a temporary idea. It most likely wont work out, but i wanted to know what ya'll thought about it. If you have any ideas, please share them!

Hello everybody, I thought it only right to take a moment to remember The Invasion of Europe today. 65 years ago this very day, over 160,000 men left to attack Germany's great Atlanic wall. A cement barricade covering the entire french shoreline! This wall was more than a wall though, it had land-mines on the beach, cement pillboxes all over, atilary back-up, and much more. I am about to share a paper I wrote about the attack. O know it's long so feel free to skip to any part you want to know about.

D-Day is arguably the most important battle in modern history. In 1939, a man named Adolph Hitler had seized control of Germany and had begun to build an army in spite of a treaty signed in 1919. This treaty was signed at the end of World War I (WWI) and prohibited Germany from raising a military. Over the span of two years Hitler conquered over half of Europe including France, Austria, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. On December 11, 1941, Hitler declared war on the U.S, forcing America to join the war as Britain’s allies.In 1943, America and Britain agreed on an enormous attack against Germany.

Planning

The next year was spent planning and preparing for D-Day. The “D” in D-day does not actually mean anything, they just repeated the first letter to emphasize the day’s importance. Although almost all military operations are called D-Day at one time, this D-Day was the ultimate D-Day.

After months of planning, the Allies (Britain and America) decided the best place to attack was Normandy, a beach on the northern coast of France directly across the English Channel from England. Normandy was the best place to attack simply because it wasn’t. Normandy was not near Britain and was pretty well protected. One Normandy was selected, the beach was divided into five different landing zones; Utah, and Omaha (American), Gold, Juno, and Sword (British). The Allies knew Hitler would never expect an attack there. If Hitler was wondering where the Allies would attack, he would assume that they would attack Calais, a jut of land extremely close to England. The Allies used this to their advantage later on.

American and British scientists studied charts over 300 years old to determine when the tide would be right to attack. The tide had to be high enough so that the landing craft, carrying soldiers, could clear the spikes set up by the Germans. The soonest time the tide would meet all the requirements was June 5, 1944. Knowing this, the generals agreed to set the date of attack for that time.

Trickery against the Germans

The Allies decided to try and fool the Germans and made what they called “Patton’s Army.” Patton was an American general who had led a brilliant campaign against Germany in Africa. After their defeat the Germans wanted to be prepared for this “Hervorragendes Ungeheuer” or “Brilliant monster.” The Germans knew he was going to attack again but they didn’t know where. The British set up inflatable tanks and fake runways to confuse the Germans. The Germans evaluated their defenses and decided that Patton would attack at Calais, a beach only 30 or so miles from England, across the English Channel. Actually, Patton was prohibited from active duty because he had slapped a soldier during the Africa campaign, but it fooled the Germans. They sent a brigade of Panzer tanks to Calais to prepare the city. The Allies were also very careful with any information concerning D-Day. One story says an American general, who was stationed in London, got drunk and started to brag about how much he knew. The next day he was transferred to a lonely base in Nevada for the remainder of the war.

America spent the year of 1943 by building planes, weapons, tanks, and shipping men to Britain. The Allies knew that the secret to victory was not only to have better weapons and men then the enemy, but also to know more. Spy planes equipped with high speed cameras would fly, low altitude, over the German defenses, taking pictures all the while. In a short time, the Allies had a full photo map of Normandy. Pilots who would be flying during the attack could go into the room and memorize what their target looked like from the sky. Every bomber knew exactly what to hit.

The Allies also created special weapons for D-Day. The most unique of these was an amphibious tank. This tank was designed to be launched by boat and motor to the shore where it would act like a regular tank. This seemed perfect to the generals who did not want to have to take heavy tanks to shore by boat.

Moments before attack

When June 5 finally arrived the weather was stormy and almost tipped the landing craft. After a brief meeting between the American and British generals, the landing was postponed 12 hours. The soldiers took this as bad news because the storm was rocking the ships so fiercely more than three-fourths of the soldiers were already seasick. Spending another 12 cursed hours on board these boats seemed unbearable.

After 12 hours had passed, the weather was still just as stormy. The generals met again and postponed the attack another 12 hours. After 12 hours had past the weather was still bad, but it wasn’t raining anymore. The generals knew that they had to attack now or wait another 2 weeks for the tide to be right again. Returning to England was dangerous because they couldn’t keep 160,000 men quiet for two weeks. The attack was on.

Paratroopers

Before any soldiers landed on Normandy there were already Allies there. These Allies were paratroopers. Paratroopers are soldiers who are dropped behind enemy lines and help defeat the enemy’s support. The paratroopers were dropped at the right time but a heavy ground fog caused pilots to drop them off target. Some paratroopers landed up to 50 miles away from their drop zone. This may have seemed a disaster, but it was turned to good because the paratroopers were spread out over so much land that the Germans thought that there were more then twice the paratroopers than there really were. These paratroopers formed into groups and went around causing havoc by killing patrols and blowing up anti-aircraft guns.

Out at sea, more than 160,000 soldiers were preparing to land on Normandy. Before the landing, battleships bombarded the shore at a rate of 200 tons of bombs per minute! Bombers flew and showered the barricade with tons of 500 pound bombs. From the ships, it was like watching a caged rat get blown to bits. They thought that nothing could be left alive on the beach. They were wrong.

The Attack

Not only were there plenty of Germans alive, but they were prepared to fight back. The solid, extremely thick, concrete bunkers had provided enough protection for these Germans. As the soldiers started on the journey toward the beach, the Germans pounded them with lead. Many soldiers would look to the boat next to them and see it blow up, sending metal and men flying into the air. The waves were so bad that some of the boats began to sink. One sergeant yelled in the desperation of the moment,

“What the **** are you guys waiting for! Use your **** helmets and bail!”

As the carriers neared Omaha beach, some of them got caught in sand banks and didn’t want to continue because of the fear of not being able to get back to the ships. Instead, they let the soldiers out over 100 yards from the beach. Many of the soldiers jumped from the boat into 8 ft deep water and drowned due to the 100 pounds of equipment strapped on their backs.

The soldiers that did reach the beach found that they were stuck behind a five foot sand wall. Any soldier unlucky enough to let his head show was soon dead. The soldiers were waiting for a weapon that would never come. That weapon was the amphibious tank that had seemed so perfect. All but 3 out of more than 50 had sunk because of the stormy seas. Without tanks, the soldiers seemed doomed. This feeling of doom disappeared after one sergeant asked a soldier what was going on. “We can’t get past that bunker sir.” The soldier yelled above the noise of the battle,

“****, that’s it. I’ll get you past that ***-**** bunker!”

With that, the sergeant grabbed a demolition pack (a large bag, filled with explosives that are set on a timer which can be started by anyone at the push of a button) and started running toward the bunker. In an incredible act of courage, the sergeant reached the base of the bunker and planted the demolition pack at its base. He was shot and killed as he ran back to the beach, but his courage had already helped the war. After 15 seconds, the bunker blew up and a hole 10 yards across was opened in the wall. For his act of courage, that sergeant was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. After a few hours the Americans had taken Omaha beach. The other beaches were tough, but Omaha was certainly the worst.

Patton’s army ended up working extremely well. The panzers, that were so desperately needed, were just sitting up at Calais but needed orders from Hitler to move. Hitler couldn’t give orders because he was asleep. The night before the attack Hitler had spent the night partying and drinking. The morning of the attack he slept late, and no one dared wake him for fear of stirring his wrath. The Panzers never were able to help Normandy.

Conclusion

After hours of carnage and gore, the Allies had a foothold in Europe. The battle was tough and the casualties high. Out of 160,000 soldiers 9,000 died, or 1 out of 17. After this battle, the war went on for more than a year, all the while the Allies gaining ground. On the 19th of April, 1945, Germany surrendered to America and ended the awful bloodshed.

The LAPD(Los Angeles Police Department), The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it.

The CIA goes in.

They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist.

The FBI goes in.

After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming.

The LAPD goes in.

They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!"

A CEO throwing a party takes his executives on a tour of his opulent mansion. In the back of the property, the CEO has the largest swimming pool any of them has ever seen.

The huge pool, however, is filled with hungry alligators.

The CEO says to his executives "I think an executive should be measured by courage. Courage is what made me CEO. So this is my challenge to each of you: if anyone has enough courage to dive into the pool, swim through those alligators, and make it to the other side, I will give that person anything they desire. My job, my money, my house, anything!"

Everyone laughs at the outrageous offer and proceeds to follow the CEO on the tour of the estate. Suddenly, they hear a loud splash. Everyone turns around and sees the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) in the pool, swimming for his life. He dodges the alligators left and right and makes it to the edge of the pool with seconds to spare. He pulls himself out just as a huge alligator snaps at his shoes.

The flabbergasted CEO approaches the CFO and says, "You are amazing. I've never seen anything like it in my life. You are brave beyond measure and anything I own is yours. Tell me what I can do for you.

The CFO, panting for breath, looks up and says, "You can tell me who pushed me in the pool!"

"Up" at the Theater!

I just watched Up at the movie theater and I can say unhesitantly that it was the BEST animated movie I have ever watched. (And close to best on any movies I have watched, period!) I was really surprise about how moving the plot was, especially in a day and time when most movies have shallow plots filled with dirty jokes. I can absolutely fully recommend this movie to all of you. Hope you like it as much as I do!

The Rio!

Hey folks! I just got back from watching Night at the museum II for the second time! This time I organized a big group, of 34 somewhat people and we all went together. We were the only ones in the theatre! It was awesome, and as usual, I noticed a lot more things when i watched it again. Afterwards we went and got ice cream at Maggie Moo's, and hung around the Rio, it was a ton O fun! I am looking forward to doing somthing like this again.

Night at the museum and other such things

Hey folks! R.G. here! I just saw Night at the museum II: Battle for the smithsonian, and let me tell you, it was Great! I loved Akmanra's brother, Kahmanra, and I especially enjoyed The air and space musuem part. I am actually thinking about going to see it again with a group of friends.

In other news, John Hill has made the decision to leave as a blog author. Im not quite sure of all the details, but you can talk to him about it. But we may be getting a replacement author pretty soon! I've been talking to Natalie S. about joining as an author, and though its not confirmed I THINK she may be able to do some posting!

Also, I went to a special WWII Convention on Saturday, and it was amazing! People had tanks, jeeps, guns, swords, knives, helmets, bazooka's, Everything you could imagine! Most of it was for sale, And I bought a few things. My Uncle is a big WWII Collector and came all the way out from OK to go to this convention. Well afterwards we went to the APG (Aberdeen Proving grounds) Museum and saw a bunch of cool stuff. Outside they had hundreds, and i mean hundreds, of tanks lined up. I took snapped a lot of shots for you guys, and should be able to get some of 'em up soon.

The Frisbee Incident!

So I'm still in Albion, Michigan, and there was a interesting event that happened today. Me, my cousin Charlie (20 yrs. old) and Elise my sister were just passing a frisbee around today. Charlie left about halfway through because he had to meet some more relatives, but me and Elise kept playing. So there's this really fast flowing river (About 30 ft across and 3~5 ft deep) right near , and I threw the firsbee right into it! Of course, it just HAD to be my cousins frisbee and we all paniced and went crazy trying to get it, but the river was flowing WAY too fast. Chichi (my other sister) went running to get help and Elise and I went running along the river on either side trying to find a place to get it. (yah, yah, we're prob the only people who would go this crazy over a $15 frisbee, but whateva) This gang of teenagers were shouting at us, "You can do it! Ya dude, keep it up, man!" In a not-exactly-encouraging tone, but I ignored them and kept following. Finally the current slowed, but there was a couple feet drop down to the river and I couldn't reach the frisbee. I got a stick and kept it near the side of the river, and then my dad came to the rescue. We borrowed a hoe from this random kind person and managed to fish the frisbee out. YAAAAAAAYYYYY!!! Thus concludes my random 'adventure' of the day. I'll be back tomorrow night! (After a 10 hr drive. RG, no comments plz. ;-)

Allo peoples! I am (as in RIGHT NOW THIS SECUNDO!) in Michigan after a long, tiring, cramping, tiring, annoying, tiring, boring trip that was very, very tiring. (Did I mention it was tiring?) Ya, you get the point. I am alive and well (but still tired) and am enjoying my time at my aunt's house. I'm coming back Sunday night so I won't be at church, but I should see alot of ya at various times this week. I'll try to post a update when I get back home! Icebergs

Icebergs in the Antarctic area sometimes have stripes, formed by layers of snow that react to different conditions.

Blue stripes are often created when a crevice in the ice sheet fills up with meltwater and freezes so quickly that no bubbles form.

When an iceberg falls into the sea, a layer of salty seawater can freeze to the underside. If this is rich in algae, it can form a green stripe.

Brown, black and yellow lines are caused by sediment, picked up when the ice sheet grinds downhill towards the sea.... Is this amazing??

Antarctica Frozen Wave Pixs - Nature is amazing! The water froze the instant the wave broke through the ice. That's what it is like in Antarctica where it is the
coldest weather in decades. Water freezes the instant it comes in contact with the air. The temperature of the water is already some degrees below freezing.Just look at how the wave froze in mid-air!!!

Six flagz!

Hey folks! R.G. here! Just got back from six flags, and boy did i have a blast! I went on all the rollercoasters (cept for mind eraser, went on it last year and broke some ribs) and some water rides! A couple of friends and I went to the kiddy section as well and rode the toddle coaster, it was awesome! There was also Some raccoon that was apparently sick and wandering around.

Well I just want to say that my top 3 favs are Superman, batwing, and joker's jinx. I love batwing because its the only coaster that actually makes you feel like you were flying. Superman was awesome as well, but it gets kind of boring after the first hill.

Later on a bunch of CLC people gathered infront of one of the main buildings. Suddenly, to our surprise, Cotton eyed Joe started playing. Of course we couldnt just stand there, we had to dance! This of course atracted a crowd, and some random people tried to dance with us, while others simply pointed and took videos. It was Awesome!

Several times During the day I got seperated from my "group" and had to join another one. I had alot of fun overall and cant wait to do it again next year! I Had an AWESOME time with all you guys out there! You are awesome friends!

Hey guys, just to start off my term as "Author of Life-n-Jeans" I shall post a small tid-bit!

This ship is the USS New York. It was built with 24 tons of scrap steel from the World Trade Center. It is the fifth in a new class of warship - designed for missions that include special operations against terrorists. It will carry a crew of 360 sailors and 700 combat-ready Marines to be delivered ashore by helicopters and assault craft.
Steel from the World Trade Center was melted down in a foundry in Amite, LA to cast the ship's bow section. When it was poured into the molds on Sept 9, 2003, 'those big rough steelworkers treated it with total reverence,' recalled Navy Capt. Kevin Wensing, who was there. 'It was a spiritual moment for everybody there.'
Junior Chavers, foundry operations manager, said that when the trade center steel first arrived, he touched it with his hand and the 'hair on my neck stood up.' 'It had a big meaning to it for all of us,' he said. 'They knocked us down but They can't keep us down. We're going to be back.'

Hey folks, this is R.G. posting for probably the last time as the head author of life N jeans. Because of recent events, Life N jeans will go through a complete makeover. Not only will the template change, but the authors as well. Some people that you all may know very well will be joining as an author. I am very excited to be expanding, but it is also a bit sad since i have been running blogs by myself for.... 8 years now? This will be the first time that I will have to share a blog. Legacy 5K

Hey folks! The CLC Legacy 5K race was today! I ran it with some friends, and it was awesome! Only there was a slight problem. I had been counting on having my MP3 player for the race, but I lent it to my sis (who is down in South America right now). Most of you know that without my music, I turn into a giant snail. But I did surprisingly well, better than i thought i would have without my music. I came in somwhere around 50th place, Which is pretty good considering their were several hundred racing. Afterwards there was snacks and drinks (bananas, muffins, oranges, cookies, etc.). Somehow ( i have no clue why) I got caught in a violent water war between Two runners. For no apparent reason These two attackers dumped gallons of water on me (and my new shoes! which are asics by the way). Later there was an Alumni baseball game with hamburgers and such, but i was not able to stay for it. I am sad to say that once again I did not have my camera. If you all are wondering why i suddenly went on a picture/video strike, its because I am waiting for my sis (the other one) to get home from college so i can use her Really nice one (camera).

in 2nd place...wait! whats this? a TIE?!?!?!? (first place ties are aloud :P ) It seems as if a last minute vote from a certain "Michael G." has tied up Other-ish and Country! Hmm, looks like Im gonna have to cast the winning vote. Lets see, this is gonna be a hard decision.....country or Other-ish? hmmmm....... I'll get back to you on this :)

In other news, The teacher appreciation dinner is on Friday! Which is today actually since its midnight. The advanced band and I will be performing an adventure trilogy, including 3 John Williams pieces known as Star wars, Imperial march, and Indiana Jones! Prayers will be appreciated!

Also, the Legacy 5K Run/Walk race is comin up this Saturday. I am enrolled as "Lime Green", so if you see a short kid with floppy hair, thats probably me. Oh and Tomorrow is also History class for me, and i had to cram last minute for it. I set a new record for myself, 2 weeks worth of history in 45 minutes! In the past I have made 4 weeks in 2 hours, but this record is just for the 2 week.

Well, since I am running out of things to ramble on and on about, Looks like I will have to cast my vote. Drum roll please!

Contest!! (and Pilgrim)

Hey folks! Guessssssssss what!?! I have prepared a grand contest for you all! As you have probably noticed by this point I have a blog soundtrack ( This should not come as a big shock to you, unless you need to get your ears cleaned). Not wanting to have a permanent musical fixture though, I am going to Have a musical Choice contest! Yay. Wahoo. moving on.

Anyways, I am going to pick several different Genre's ( you know, Rock, punk, pop, country, etc.) of music for you all to vote on. Then you will vote on what songs you want to be on this blog FROM the top two Genres. The top 10 songs taken from BOTH Genres will be placed up for vote. Only five out of these 10 will make it to the playlist (Am i confusing you?). The voting will begin.....NOW!

Here are the Genres!

In other news, The youth play "Pilgrim" had its last performance on Saturday, May 3rd, 7:30 pm. I was able to attend but did not take my camera. This was the second Time i was able to see the show, and it had gotten even better! The last performance had Lots of added tid-bits and such that when put together, form enough to create almost an entire new scene! The acting was amazing, as well as the musical and dancing skills of the characters. One particular scene i enjoyed was a Scottish Folk dance, where several Lads and Lasses danced highland style to a bagpipe and fiddle. Since I had already seen the show, I seated with some friends further back. It was rather...how shall i put it....interesting ( not the show, the seats!). One of my other friends was acting as an "Usher" and stood below us (we were in the permanent bleachers, a balcony like thing). Well one of my OTHER friends who was sitting with us threw some stuff down at him, and conked him right on the head. This friend immediately looked up and thought I had done it (Me! of all people!).

Well later on, at the intermission I was having a lot of fun making friends pay up long-owed debts (since i didn't have any money for the snack bar). After that we went back to our seats and watched the rest of the show (which was amazing!). Later on I talked to the actors
(a lot of them are my friends :D ) and attempted to avoid being trampled by the mob of people trying to get their autographs. It was an eventful night!

SATs

Hey folks! Robert here. Jeepers! Do I have a lot to tell you! Well first I'm gonna start off by telling you guys that I just finished my SATs! I had my first session yesterday from 8:00 to 3:15 . Afterwards I felt exhausted, and was planning on going home to take a nice long nap. Well I found out that there was a running event that day that I wanted to go to, and so i decided ( even though i felt like i was dead) to do it anyway. The bad thing was, i did not have my MP3 player with me, and that's about the only thing that keeps me going. ( Oh, and did i mention I was running in a sweatshirt and jeans?) I ran about 4.5 miles, but i did it rather slow. But overall, I'm just happy i could do it all without stopping (or walking). Well today i had my last session of SATs, and it was much less strenuous than yesterday.

In other news, The play "Pilgrim" is having it's dress rehearsal tonight at 7:30. Pilgrim is a play put on by the youth of the 10:31 (youth) ministry At Covenant Life church. I will probably be there, since I will already be in the building for my band rehearsal.

And now, for all you people out there who have been emailing me like crazy to update my flickr account, I got good news for you. I DID take some new pictures, and I will hopefully have them posted up on my flickr by tomorrow, once they are run through Photoshop.

Hey folks! Robert here. Not much to report. I DID have Literature class this morning, which was fun. Later on I went running with a cross country group and a bunch of friends. It was A lot of fun, and considering i never run (at all) I'd say i did pretty well for myself (4.5 miles)(Not to mention i was in a double shirt and jeans ). I kept pace pretty well with all the other folks, and had a good time. I am lookin forward to doing it again!

In other news, Mr. chouinard has been doing better and is back teaching band. Also, I thought you all would be interested in hearing that i intend to purchase a new camera. I am currently saving up for it, but it will be a while before i can get it. When my sis, Charissa, comes home from college for the summer I may be able to borrow her really nice one ( since she never uses it) and actually get some decent pictures for you all. She has a Nikon d70. Well, thats about all for this short post. See ya round the fishin hole!

Hey folks! Robert here. Been a little bit eh? Well first off i want to wish a late haappy birthday to cody branchaw (who's b-day was yesterday, which was Wednesday). So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY CODY!! woot woot. ok. wahoo. moving on.

In other news I have added music to the site. Actually for the moment its just sounds like rain, but I think its pretty cool. I will be changing the songs every now and then, just to give the sound a fresh theme. and I will be playing a lot of country, for your guys information. I'd love to get some feedback from you guys on this!

In case your wonderin what I've been doin of late, let me tell you, nothing exciting. Just moseying around the house, doin school, going to classes, the usual. I have not used my camera in a little while ( to the utter delight of some of my compainions). I have science class today, as well as band, so something interesting may happen there. I'll get back to you on that.

Oh and one last thing, I wanted to request that all you guys pray for Mr. chouinard. He has been having some health problems of late and has been absent from teaching band. If you guys could pray for his healing then that would be great!

Long time, Lots to say.

Hey folks! R.G. here. Long time no post! Boy, is there A lot of stuff I have to tell you! I guess I had better start from the beginning.

Recently after my last post, I went to CLC to help setup for a history fair they were going to put on. I carried tables, chairs, placed things here and there, etc. It was pretty fun, since all my friends were there. I did get to bring my camera and got some videos for you guys! Well the next day was the history fair, and i attended. Along with my camera. It as a blast! There was dancing ( which i did not participate in. ), Tons of cool displays, 356 hotogs, and a lot of soda! I spent a lot of my time fixing hot dogs in the kitchen. When i was done, I just vegged out on Giant pixie sticks. I had a lot of fun.

For the next few days nothing interesting happened. Just classes and stuff like that. Then one day, The "Smart one" and Stephen calderone showed up at my door. All of us went outside and rode our bikes ( and unicycles) through the surrounding neighborhoods. I took my camera, but StevyO was using it the whole time. The videos he took are a bit shaky since he was atop his unicycle while filming!

Also, I have been on a photography spree, and took a lot of cool new pictures. You can see them at my flickr account. No, i dont want you you to view that little window in the top right corner that says "my flickr". I want you to go to flickr.com/photos/dr_r .

I also found this funny Video that i believe you all will enjoy. An army of dancers ( over 400 strong) infiltrated a subway station in Liverpool, england. Only the daners knew what was going on, the people were clueless. Its amazing! please watch!

Hey folks! Robert here. I JUST SAW BOLT! Let me tell you, it was amazing! I was cackling nonstop throughout the entire movie ( which greatly annoyed my family). Let me tell you right off I give it a definite 5 STAR. My favorite character was definitely the hamster, Rhino. I love it when he says " Today is a great day to die", and "My training has prepared me for this! DIE!!". Its just so funny! And if you have not seen it yet, go out and rent it! Its awesome! ( Bye the way, Redbox is better than blockbuster. You can get movies for rates as low as 1 dollar!). This is a Movie I definitely plan on watching again and again

In other news, April fool's day is next week! I hope all of you are prepared, because you never know what might happen (*Grins*). Just keep a sharp eye out for...well... any thing out of the ordinary. Well, That's my short post for now! See ya 'round kiddos!

Hey folks! Robert here. I dont have much to post, just some small, insignificant, minuscule things that probably aren't even worth your time. I went to the park yesterday and took a few pictures with my friends and played gravel and such. I interviewed one of the evil people of evilness, and boy did he have a lot to say! It was like talking to a snob for an hour and a half
( even though it was only 1 minute.). Today I went with my mom and brother to take my Other brother to the doctor. Then i just got back, had lunch, and, well, did this post. Well thats all for now! So much for an event full post ;) .

Hey folks! R.G. here. Boy, do I have a lot of stuff to tell you guys! Well, first off I went to Gettysburg yesterday! I rode up with the barkers and a caravan of other cars. We stopped at the visitors center first to watch a show and then a cyclorama thing that was a AMAZING. It was a painting the size of an IMAX screen that stretched all the way around the room in a complete circle. There was fake terrain that ran up to the painting, and it was so well done you could not tell where real became fake! The painting was painted there just after the civil war, and was said to be so realistic that the veterans of the war wept when they saw it. Well from then on we went on a tour of Gettysburg. We went to a ton of battlefields, including "Little round top", "Devils den", and a lot of others. Devil's den was probably my favorite. Devil's den is a humongous pile of rocks that are about 50 feet tall or more in some places. Underneath them are a span of tunnels that can be 2 feet high or 6 feet. It is an amazing place! Well after that we visited other assorted places, and then we split up to head on home. The family I was with went back to little round top to see the monument to the 20th Maine. After that we headed back home. I took my camera and was planning on getting a lot of good pictures, but a slight problem took place. The only batteries i had were half dead ones and my camera is really old, and doesn't work well unless it has full power batteries. I kept running out of power, and the camera wouldn't take good pictures. But i did get some videos for you all and some pictures. Also, I took a trip to D.C. this morning. I went to the library of congress, American history museum, etc. It was A ton O fun! I did get pictures, and i believe you will like them! Enjoy!

ZIPKON- a technological business

Hey all, Robert here. Starting today, I am officiating "Fresh Friday". Fresh Friday occurs ever two weeks. On fresh Friday i will post an article about a "Fresh" young business seeking to grow. Today's topic - Zipkon. I will be telling you about Zipkon and its founder.

First off, I am going to show you what Zipkon itself says about what it does.

"Zipkon is a technical consumer consulting company that specializes in researching consumer electronics such as laptops, smart phones, PDAs, Desktop computers, Netbooks, and Media players, so that consumers who do not have the time or resources to find out what product will best fit their needs and uses, while still saving money."

(This statement is listed on the zipkon website.)

Where shall i start? At the beginning of course! Zipkon was originally founded for a business class project under the name of Royer consulting. The founder and CEO, Philip Wynn Royer, eventually ran into copyright issues over the company name. A change was initiated and the name Royer consulting was put to rest, and from the ashes, Rose Zipkon. But it was not until 8:50 PM, January 23rd, 2009, that The official website was launched. Zipkon's new website featured a "Fresh" and "clean" setting. Later, when even more graphics were added, The Site became bit more stylish. (I have not obtained permission from the Designer to mention his name so he will remain anonymous). But though the Website had been erected, the first BETA service launch would not be launched until 11:33 AM, March 18, 2009. The Beta service currently only includes "laptops", but according to Zipkon more options will soon follow, such as "Desktops", "Netbooks", "media players", "etc.". On March 19, 2009, Zipkon's first official add was emailed to The CEO of One-Graphix corp. . During its slow, but steady upward climb, Zipkon has announced this in its "Thank you" section.

"Most importantly, the people at Zipkon want to thank God for inspiring them, giving them this idea, and helping them pull together the resources needed to make Zipkon a reality. Without God, none of this would have ever taken place. We are forever grateful to God for guiding us in this venture, and we will continue to seek to glorify God in every aspect of this company! In other news, I am getting ready for a big field trip tomorrow. Our class and some family members of the class members will be traveling to Gettysburg! We will leave at 8:00 AM and probably get back around 5:30. We are going to watch a movie, eat lunch, see the battlefield, and listen to tour guides drone on and on for hours. I will hopefully take my camera ( if i can find any batteries :/ ) and should be able to get some shots for you all, and maybe even some videos.

This morning at class a bunch of us gave oral reports. Everyone but me wrote short snappy things, and for some reason I was the only one who wrote a multiple page paper. Later, when we went outside after class, one of the horses that lives next door to the house we have class stuck his head over the fence. People petted him and stuff for a bit, and he kept chewing on one of the student's bags. Well, that's all for now folks! see ya 'round!

Hey folks! Robert here. Boy have i got alot to tell you! First off, For those who are wondering, I went to see a certain "Dr. Quigley", and orthopedic surgeon at Shady grove hospital . He informed me that my shoulder was seperated, and that i could not play contact sports or anything where I might fall on my shoulder. This poses a threat to a P.E. class I am taking called ultimate Frisbee. Ultimate Frisbee is a fun game that resembles football and rugby, except there is no physical contact allowed and it is placed with a disc in the place of a ball. On Tuesday I attended the first class and brought my camera, since i was injured and unable to play. I took numerous snapshots for you all so you should be happy! Well, Here they are!

Here's the only video i took. Its very shaky because i was running. And i donyt think I mentioned that since my camera is so ancient it does not contain a stableizer.

In other news, HAPPY LATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY! I know it was yester day, but, who cares! I really love "wear green day", especially Since green is my favorite color. It was my favorite holiday ( besides thanksgiving, christmas, and my birthday) when i was little, but i didnt really figure out what it was all about until i was older. When i finaly found out what the real meaning of Ole st. pattrick's day was, and the story of the man behind me, it really annoyed me when I would meet someone who honestly thought st. pattrick was a little green leprechaun who ran around handing out four leaf clovers! The real story of St. Pattrick's life is an amazing tale that testifies to the God's infinite glory and power. I would advise asking your parents about or reading a book on St. patrick. I would not advise asking friends (unless they certainly know) or googleing. It is quite an amazing story but its to long for me to post right now.

I also thought you might like to know I just got back from a CLS cougars Baseball game. Tragically they lost to the away team, 16 - 2. I DID get pictures and videos, but i will not be able to post them at the moment. Hopefully i can get them to you soon! Also, here are the rest of the debate videos!

Hey folks! Robert here. I wanted to let you all know that I did take my camera to the debate, and took a lot of pictures and videos. The pictures are probably a bore, and only some of the videos are good. I am sad to say that I forgot to bring my camera to the dance, but i did have fun!
(Besides the fact that John H. was tripping all around the entire time knocking people over.).
Cody C. and John H. came over to my house after the debate and we hung out for a while and then ate dinner, which john had the best manners I'd ever seen *says in sarcastic voice*. After dinner and numerous cookies we piled into the van and zoomed off to the dance. I sat out for the first hour and joined in later. It was a lot of fun! Well anyways, I apologize for not bringing my camera, I was just busy trying to keep John from destroying things. Well here are the videos I DID take at the debate, hope you enjoy!

Hey guys! R.G. here. I only have time for a quick update, so here 'tis!

I am getting ready to leave for Literature class, which should take about from 9:00 to 11:30. After that I will be walking to the Allen's house to watch the Rhetoric debate, and I WILL have my camera with me so I might have some stuff to post for you all later on. From there, Cody is coming over to my house ( the plans are shaky and might change, but I'll notify you of the outcome). We will kinda hang out N stuff until 6:45, when we will go to THE SQUARE DANCE! I will hopefully have my camer there as well, so I may have some shots for you guys ;). Well, thats about all. Long time no post

Hey folks! Robert here. Sorry for not postin much lately. I have been a bit busy. Well, I'm sure you guys are just itching to hear what happened to me since last I posted. I guess I'll have to tell you.

On Saturday I went a Birthday Party, Laura Emelio's. We played Games and Drank soda
( there were cheese curls as well But Robert B. devoured them in a second.) for a while and then went upstairs to watch a movie ( by the way the emelio's have an awesome house! with an elevator!). We watched a movie called "The Court jester" with Danny Kaye until about 9:45. We then had Ice cream N stuff. Let me tell you, THE MOVIE WAS HILARIOUS! Its all about this jester guy...well... I guess you'll have to see it yourself. Anyways, The whole evening Rocked. well later that night my Sis, Charissa, was getting home from wheaton college on spring break. I went to the airport and helped pick her up, and by the time i got home i was wiped out. So the next day my brother David, who has been off at UVA college, was off on a spring break trip to Honduras, a country in south america. He was on a team that visited Orphanages and helped kids and stuff. He took alot of pictures, But Unfortuneatly I could not get any from him. But let me tell you, THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL! I'll try and get it some of them from him. Well Later He had to go back to college, and right before he left I remembered that my Grandad had given me an old 1,000 Yen bank Note and i had stuffed it somewhere in my drawer ( this was YEARS ago). Well I also remembered that China's Economy has spiked HUGELY as well as Japan's, so this old Bill might actually be worth its Ink! Well I checked Google Finance and they listed it as 98.4700 USD to the JPY Yen! ( 98 dollars to 1 yen). Well I immediately thought i was rich, and instantly my family jumped on me like vultures. My brothers reminded me of debts long past, My Mom said she wasn't sure if it was REALLY mine, and my dad had this "interesting" smile on his face. Well eventually I found out that google had made a mistake, and it is really 98.4700 Yen to The USD (98 Yen to one Dollar)! That made it about only 10 bucks so everyone else backed off. So in the End I got to keep my Yen! ( I love happy endings). Well come Sunday I was sick with a cough, though I would have gone, Except for I did not sleep all night and could barely move. I got better later in the day and by evening i was up and running. And the next day, today, I did school , went to choir, and came back home to post on my blog. KA-ZAM! here I am! lol.

Also, I thought you guys might like to know I finally recovered the missing minutes from the Cody tapes ( party at Cody B.'s house). So here they are! as well as some other assorted videos.

EDIT: i just got back from an amazing concert at CLC. Several musicans performed wonderfully for groups of people and I did get videos of it, and hopefully will have them for you by tomorrow.

EDIT: I was only able to upload two of the 5 Cody tapes. I will try to get the rest up tomorrow.

Hey folks! R.G. here! ....SNOOOOWWW! WAHOOOO! i cant believe it! well in case you all are wondering if i got any super dee duper snow pictures for you....i did not. I was to busy sledding! haha! I went with a bunch of friends to a cool sledding place and went off huge ramps N stuff! i think my total air was like 4-5 feet high! Next we went to the branchaws, just John hill, cody, stevyO, Natalie, sophia, and me. We played games, took videos, at pizza, and ran around the house barefoot in the snow. I do have some pictures of being at the branchaws for you but I cant get em up at the moment. I hope to have them up soon!

Hey folks! Robert here! Its been a little while since I've posted so I have alot of stuff to show you! yesterday i went on a photography craze and took a gazillion pictures! Some of 'em are pretty neat, and some of 'em are just blurry pixelated things, lol. Well for those of you who would like to know, I am still suffering from the after affects of drinking a redbull. Not the extreme hyperness, but what comes after that. Yea, you got it. Extreme EXHAUSTION. I feel like I just ran a 78 kilometer marathon! that's 78,000 Meters! Which is the same as 7,800,000 centimeters! yikes! well Im sure you don't want to listen to me droning on and on and on AND ON and on AND OOONNN and on and on and on and ON and ooonn and on and on and on and....yea. blah blah blah blabbermouth. Hey folks, Robert here. Sorry I havent posted in a bit, been busy. well, firstoff i have some vids to show you guys, I took them yesterday at church. Now These videos have MUCH better sound, you just have to turn up the speakers a bit. Even though they are a bit pointless I think you'll enjoy them.

In other news, I am releasing the results for the best actor and photo category contest. *Drums beat in the backround*

The winner is........ STEPHEN CALDERONE! yes, StevyO won by a last minute landslide of votes. Congratulations stevy boy! If I had a popsicle i would give it to you, but of course, I dont.

In Second place, we have JOHN HILL! now John, I'd rather skip on if you dont mind, because i dont feel like elaborating about your "Superior skills".

In third place.....ROBERT GALBRAITH! aye aye thats me! a good pat on the back for myself i must say!

I recently finished this composition, a poem, a few days ago. I would have the edited version for you but since my editor has failed to get me that copy, You'll have to be satisfied with this one. Its free verse, and I have properly titled it, "Imprisoned". Enjoy!

Imprisoned

The icy grip of winters claw,
Seems to grasp at me tightly.
Fear yet to be consumed,
Burns within my being.

Am I to be enslaved,
Forever victim of its snare?
For I sway upon an edge,
It awaits me to fall.

As cold as death,
Its ropes bind me.
Twisting my fate to its own,
It seeks my destruction.

But Lo I shall be free,
For yea, it cannot last.
Its strength is limited,
To the passing of time.

Its grip has weakened,
Quietly I slip away.
The endless night is over,
The Morning has finally come.

TOG Field Trip!!!

Hey Folks! Just got back from my field trip. Let me tell you, IT POSITIVELY ROCKED! It was definatly the best field trip I've been on with tapestry yet! We drove forever in the car then we stopped in this rural town and went in a cool coffee shop. I took ALOT of pictures for you guys. Then we crossed the street to the museum and began our tour. It was quite a place! They had old medicines and bones and stuff, cody loved it. Well i couldnt take hardly any pictures because the people in charge said they didnt own all the stuff so, yea. But I managed to get a few in!
We also went to a really cool battlefield and got covered in mud. there was a little museum there in which I DID get pictures. It was alot of fun! I took some cool vids as well, but since my camera is really old, it was windy, and everyone was shouting, I didnt go so well. But I decided to post em up here anyway. Well, thats about all! Here's the pics, Enjoy!

Hey folks, R.G. here. In case your wondering why I havent posted in a while, I've been sick. Im pratically better now and what to thank all of you who prayed for me, I apreciate it!

In other news, I just got back from science class. Even though it was an interesting class, I dont think any of you want to be bored out of your mind being told about physics and stuff (Basically your not smart enough, he he!) (lol jk). So I have no clue why Im even posting, but i thought i should since You all are obviously in agony wondering whats going on with me now-a-days.

Tomorrow I am going on a field trip for TOG to the Civil war Medicine museum and then a battlefield. Since I am riding up with a car full of almost entirely guys, Somthing interesting is bound to happen. Of course I'll probably be tortured for half the ride by having to listen to SOMEONE I WONT NAME's Jokes, But hopefull they wont drone on and on the entire trip ( though they might). I will be taking my camera so I should definatly have some shots for you guys when I get back. Until then!

Hey folks, R.G. here. Cool day at church today. Mr. Sommerville had some kids to a skit about vanity fair from pilgrim's progress. The best actors by FAR were Abby cleveland and Even malcom. I also played a blast on my trumpet for part of the story. The funnny thing was, I was gonna do a comical blast. When Mr. S. said "and a heavenly trumpet sounded", I was going to do the most ugly blast possible. the problem was that i didnt do it ugly enough and no one laughed -.- . Lol, anyways, I basically haven't done anything else that would interest you very much, so I guess im done posting.

Valentines day

Hey folks, R.G. Here. First off, I want to make it plain that I DID NOT receive any valentines. Why is this the first thing I am stating? BECAUSE THATS THE ONLY THING I'VE BEEN ASKED ABOUT ALL DAY! You'd think people wouldnt be so interested in you r stuff. And I want you all to know I am perfectly happy with no cards at all! In fact, im about as cheerfull as a half roasted marshmellow! (in a good way) . Ok, so onto another subject.

I was playing this really awesome online flight simulator thing that was amazing. its called Aces High II. Its during world war II and there are so many things to do! Unlike other air games, you cant just "lift off the ground". Everything is calibrated like you were getting a real plane of the ground. Its really complicated, and Takes a long time to get used to, but its amazing once you get the hang of it!

This morning, We had our annual "V-day Breakfast". We have oranges, cinnamon rolls, scones, chocolates, and lots lots more delicious morsels! well anyway, we all give each other cards, my family that is, and I got a really interesting one. It had a teddy bear hamster on the front holding a small heart. Usually i dont go for this stuff but since it was a hamster, I loved it. If any of you know me, Then you know I positively think Hamsters ROCK! (Not that other pets aren't cool as well, say, chinchillas!) This card actually almost killed me, in a way. you see, somtimes i get laughing so hard I cant stop. Well, later on in the day I looked at it again and started laughing. I Laughed so hard I was nearly doubled up and on the floor! Finally I regained my breathe.

Since my little bro is hounding me to get off the computer, I'll have to summarize the rest of my day for you in points-

-Played Halo
-Played Animal crossing: City Folk
-Cleaned up (did chores)
- Went outside
-Walked in circles in freezing weather
-played football ( made amazing touchdown catches AND passes!)
-played jailtag ( was tagged 3 times -.-)
-was It on jailtag
-Went inside
-Got on computer

Thats basically what happened after the stuff I mentioned earlier. Well, since my brother is nearly screaming at me ( with his eyes, you know. He stopped talking and now he glares. Makes me shiver. His eyes almost seem to be shouting! whats that? No im not insane! well.....) I guess I should get off now. See ya!

Flowers, candy, and Bugs

Hey folks, R.G. here. I got some feedback from you all that the comment section wasn't working. well, no worries, Its now up and running!

Also, in case you were wondering how class went, I had a blast! We read our reports about slavery and Fredrick Douglas, and then played "stump the teacher". We all came up with little known facts about Freddy boy and the Teacher had to guess the answer. Did you know Fredrick's favorite food was cheese!? Well i can say that it was very interesting, class, that is. Also, we did hand out the Roses and candy. Some people just went around handing them to different people, and a few just gave one flower to another person (wow). It was a little awkward at first but people got used to it later on. From that point on all that really happened was some people chasing me in circles and stuff, then everyone went home. It was quite a class. Well, that's all for now. Hope to have more to post in the future!

Hey foks! Welcome to Life-N-jeans . This is my new blog about..well... life! (and jeans of course). Why the title "jeans" right after "life", do you ask? the answer is simple. I could not think of anything else! Since I obviously like jeans, And this blog is sort of a journal-bloggy-thingy I decided incorperate that in the name. Well, here we are, the first post. Its currently 6:32 pm, thursday, febuary 12th, 2009. Right now I'm not really do anything ( 'cept for posting on this blog), but i hope to have some funny events to post for you in the future! I have TOG

(Tapestry Of Grace) tomorrow, and something interesting usually happens at class. Im actually sort of dreading it because one of my friends, ( who's name I will not mention) somehow, beyond all comprehension, got all the guys in the class to give roses and candy to all the girls. Dont ask me why, I know its not even V-day then, but its a day before and we dont see anyone on Saturday so i guess thats why. It was decided that the goodies would be dished out to all the girls with the tag "from the guys" attached, since its a little overboard to have someone give each person a "personal" valentine. In other news I've been doin ALOT of photogrophy lately, and thought i should share some with you since my flickr account ain't workin. Here 'Tis!
